Alpine Landscaping is family-owned and operated, which means you talk directly to the people doing the work. We balance clean stone building with healthy planting so your yard looks good, handles heavy rain, and holds up over time. Whether you need a retaining wall to reclaim a steep hillside or a patio for weekend cookouts, we show up on time and build things right the first time.

Questions We Get Asked Often

Where do you travel for work?

Alpine Landscaping works throughout the area, serving neighborhoods in and around Franklin and surrounding regional communities. If you aren't sure whether your property falls inside our standard service area, give us a call at +16153485817 or drop an email to alpinelandscapingfranklin@gmail.com. We can usually confirm service for your address in a few minutes.

How long does a build take?

It depends mostly on excavation size and weather. A basic fire pit or small stone walkway might take two days. A full paver patio with sitting walls and underground drainage usually takes four to seven working days. We give you a realistic schedule upfront and let you know right away if rain pushes things back.

How do you pick plants that won't die in mid-July?

Tennessee summers bring intense heat and dry spells, followed by heavy downpours. We select varieties—like native perennials, heat-tolerant shrubs, and adapted evergreens—that naturally withstand local climate swings. We also amend heavy clay soil with organic compost during planting to help roots establish quickly.

Why do we need to fix drainage before building?

If you put stone over poorly drained soil, trapped water will settle the base, freeze in winter, and crack or shift your pavers. Fixing water flow with French drains or proper grading before laying base gravel ensures your stone features remain flat and stable for decades.

Pavers, flagstone, or poured concrete: which is best?

Concrete pavers are popular because they come in many styles and won't crack like a solid slab if the ground shifts slightly. Natural flagstone gives an unmatched organic look, though installation requires careful hand-sorting. Poured concrete offers a smooth surface that works well for basic patios and wide driveways.

Will hardscaping actually help my home's resale value?

Yes. Buyers notice when a backyard is fully functional rather than an overgrown hill. Adding a clean patio space, clear walkways, and proper retaining walls creates usable living space outdoors, which makes the house feel larger and far more appealing on the market.

Can you add a fire pit to an existing patio?

In many cases, yes. We inspect your current surface to see if it can support the weight of a stone structure. If space and safety clearances allow, we build the fire feature directly onto or adjacent to your current setup so it looks like part of the original build.

How often should an irrigation system be serviced?

At minimum, twice a year. In spring, we turn the system on, check spray heads for clogs, and adjust timers for growing season. In late fall, lines must be blown out with compressed air to prevent frozen pipes from splitting during winter freeze cycles.
